Operation
The workpieces are placed on the workpiece carriers or suspended directly from the rotating hook of the undercarriage. The workpieces are then positioned in front of the shot blasting machine. An automatic feed mechanism then advances the workpieces to the first blasting position.
Once the shot blasting program has started, the machine door closes automatically and is locked electropneumatically. As the parts rotate, they are shot blasted at three different shot blasting stations according to the preset shot blasting times.
The abrasive is continuously cleaned, recirculated and reused. An abrasive dosing device feeds the clean abrasive from the abrasive storage tank to the high-performance turbines.
At the end of the blasting cycle and after the turbines have stopped completely, the machine door opens automatically and the suspended parts return to their initial position.
A fan creates the partial vacuum necessary to maintain dust-free operation of the blasting unit. The extracted air is cleaned in a special filter unit.
Capabilities and applications
Hanger shot blasting machines are one of the most flexible types of blasting equipment. They are used to remove rust, scale, sand and burrs from many types of parts. Hook shot blasting machines are also used for finishing delicate parts or roughing the surfaces of parts for subsequent coating.
Typically, hanger shot blasting machines are offered for batch or continuous processing. However, there are many intermediate designs geared towards different types of air conveying systems. In many cases, different processes such as shot blasting, painting and subsequent drying can be interconnected via the air conveying system. This enables enormous potential for streamlining the process workflow.
Additional processing variants are created by using different types of workpiece holders to assist in the process of feeding workpieces into the shot blasting machine. In many cases, standard holders such as discs, baskets or bars can solve the application challenges. However, the increasingly detailed needs of our customers often lead to the creation of custom solutions.
